Michael L. Poola

Funeral service for Michael Lee Poola, 68, of Gilbert, will be 10am Monday at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Fr. John O'Donnell officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Michael died Wed. Dec. 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born Dec. 29, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Ahti and Irene (Egger) Poola. Michael was a 1959 graduate of Gilbert High School and that same year began working for Erie Mining Company. He retired from LTV Steel as a millwright in 1998. Michael enjoyed having coffee every morning at Broadway Tony's in Gilbert and especially enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Lake Vermilion. Survivors include his sisters: Karen (Gerald) Lesnau and Donna (Jerald) Murphy both of Gilbert, nephews, Scott and Michael, nieces, Carrie and Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
