Memorial service for Paul Milo Kaska, 75, of Gilbert, will be 2pm Thursday at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military honors will immediately follow the service at the Gilbert VFW Post. Inurnment will be at a later date in Montevideo, MN. Mr. Kaska died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at St. Raphael's Health and Rehab Center in Eveleth. He was born Dec. 1, 1935 in Montevideo, MN to John and Evelyn Kaska. Following his schooling, he served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. On Oct. 4, 1958 he married Darlene Ardell Anderson. Paul retired from J&L Mining Company as a truck driver. Paul was an active member of the George and Mark Klobuchar VFW Post and its color guard. He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed camping with his best friends, Duane and Lois. Survivors include his wife, Darlene, children, Clinton P. Kaska of Aurora, Duane A. (Mary) Kaska of Aurora and Susan (Dan) Johnson of Aurora, grandchildren, Jesse Paul Kaska, Jade Catherine Kaska, Dustin Suomi and Tanya Mattson, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his dog, Chico. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy and grandson, Duane Kaska Jr.
