Irja G. Lindstrom

Funeral service for Irja G. Lindstrom, 99, of Gilbert, will be 10am Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Brenda Tibbetts AIM officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Mrs. Lindstrom died Tues. Jan. 4, 2011 at St. Raphael's Health and Rehab Center in Eveleth. She was born Sept. 21, 1911 in Gilbert, MN to Gust and Alma Wallenius. She was a 1930 graduate of Gilbert High School and received her teaching instruction from the Eveleth Normal School. She taught in a one-room school in Embarrass. Irja married Nestor Lindstrom on Oct. 26, 1942 in Cook, MN. She was a seamstress and worked at the Gilbert Public Library. Irja was a member of the Gilbert Senior Citizens and enjoyed cream puffs and chocolate. Survivors include her nieces, nephews, a special friend and a special care giver. Special thanks to St. Raphael's Staff for the excellent care given to Irja. Irja was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nestor in 1981, brother,George Wallenius, sister, Aili Mattson.
