Francis W. Kayfes

Funeral service for Francis William Kayfes, 71, of Mt. Iron, will be 11am Saturday at Grace Bible Church on Highway 37 in Clinton Township, with Pastor Marvin Aultman officiating. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Fran died Thursday January 6, 2011 in the St Mary's Hospital in Duluth. He was born August 28, 1939 in Virginia, MN to William and Irene (Wozniak) Kayfes. He was a 1958 graduate of Buhl High School. He married Eileen (Scheuring) Kayfes on September 7, 1963 in Aurora. Fran worked as a millwright in the Concentrator for Minntac for nearly 30 years. After Eileen's passing in 2005 Fran became a member of "The Circle of Friends". The band enjoyed sharing their talents and giving back to the community by volunteering to play at local nursing homes, churches, festivals and for shut ins. Fran considered the band members to be more than just friends, he considered them family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, wood working and playing guitar. Survivors include his children: Kathy (Kevin) Langer of Long Prairie and Bill (Kristie) Kayfes of Sartell; Grandchildren: Jenna and Joseph Langer and JoHanna, EllaRose, Wyatt and Eli "Francis" Kayfes, numerous Nieces and Nephews He is preceded in death by his wife Eileen (Scheuring) Kayfes, siblings Diana & Milan Jurovich and his Parents.
