Memorial service for Audrey Palm, age 82, of Aurora will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday January 29, 2011 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Rev. Amy Eisenmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Audrey died peacefully Wednesday January 19, 2011 at Essentia Health Services in Duluth, MN surrounded by family. She was born March 12, 1928 in Roseau County, MN to Jens and Anna (Torfin) Jensen. Audrey graduated from the Roseau High School. She married Ervin "Shorty" Palm on February 18, 1948. The family moved to Aurora in 1958. Audrey was a lifelong cook and had operated the Nugget in Aurora for a short time. She had cooked at every pizza restaurant in Aurora at one time or another and also at PJ's in Hoyt Lakes. Audrey retired from Abbie's Pub and Eatery at age 73. Audrey enjoyed volunteering. She has served as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. Audrey's talent for crocheting was second to none. She has blessed uncountable people with her beautiful works of art. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of all that loved her. Survivors include her sons Michael (Diane) Palm of Aurora, Gene (Dawn) Palm of Aurora, Doug (Barb Moore) Palm of Alexandria, Dale (Debi) Palm of Zimmerman; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Lorne and Paul Jensen, nephew Jeffrey Jensen. Audrey was known to many as "Grams". Memorials are preferred to Care Partners.
