Saundra J. Jarvela

Memorial service for Saundra Jean Jarvela, 69, of Sparta, will be 11am Tuesday Feb. 15 at United In Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth with Rev. Emily Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Mrs. Jarvela died suddenly Thurs. Feb. 10, 2011 at the Virginia Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 19, 1941 in Mondovi, WI to Homer and Margaret (Trump) Jones. Saundra was a graduate of Gilbert High School and later married Benhart Jarvela on Dec. 30, 1959 in Eveleth. Saundra was a homemaker who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of United In Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth. Survivors include her husband, Ben, children, Jeanine (Mark) Jarvela of Biwabik and Scott (Shelly) Jarvela of Eveleth, grandchildren: Autumn, Cassidy and Ryley, siblings, Mary Skerjance and Shirley Thiel both of Gilbert, Carol Orehek and John Jones both of Arizona and Michael Jones of Tennessee, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Merton Jones, Roberta Tollefson, Kenneth Jones and Marlene Gulbranson.
