Carol A. White

Funeral service for Carol A. White, 80, of Lakeland, will be 1pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Mrs. White died Sat. March 5, 2011 at the Virginia Convalescent Care Center. She was born Oct. 10, 1930 in Pipestone, MN to George and Mable Hartson. At the age of 13 she began working as a second cook. On May 13, 1950 she marred Howard White in Sawyer. Carol owned and operated White's Cafe in Biwabik from 1971-1976, and in Gilbert from 1976-1996. She was a life member of the Gilbert VFW Auxiliary, where she served as president. She also enjoyed wintering in Texas. Survivors include her children: Mary Ann Lampinen and David White both of Lakeland; sisters: Eva Edgecomb of Worthington and Goldie McGovern of Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; son, Gregory Allen; son-in-law, Ron Lampinen and her siblings.
