Funeral service for Stanley Walter Erickson, 69, of Embarrass, will be 1:00 pm Monday March 14, 2011 at Embarrass Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Marlin Bjornrud officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 pm at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and also for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Embarrass Cemetery. Mr. Erickson died Wednesday March 9, 2011 at the Essentia-Northern Pines Nursing Home in Aurora. Stanley was born July 3, 1941 in Biwabik the son of Emil and Helmi (Rapinoja) Erickson. He graduated from the Embarrass High School and attended Hanson Welding School in Fargo, ND. He married Charlotte Daggett on April 27, 1963. He worked at Jacobson Lumber and Erickson Brothers Construction. The business was incorporated and Stanley assumed ownership under the name Skibo Timbers, Inc. which he operated for over 40 years. Stanley was a member of the Pike Apostolic Lutheran Church, the Small Business Association, Timber Producers Association, Associated Contract Loggers, Sisu Heritage. Stanley enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; children Corinna (Murray Kinsey) Erickson of Babbitt, Glenn (Teresa) Erickson of Embarrass, Anne Marie (James) Konstenius of Embarrass, Arlin Erickson of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren Valerie (Aaron) Tervo of Duluth, Travis (Ashley Hill) Erickson of Embarrass, Tyler Monson of Embarrass, Aleksander Nagel of Babbitt, Peter Monson of Embarrass, Zachary Nagel of Babbitt, Eric Erickson of Embarrass, Ethan Erickson of Embarrass; brothers James (Marleen) Erickson of Philadelphia, PA, Allen "Chester" (Susan) Erickson of Virginia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Darrell Nelson, Harriet Erickson, Becky and William Flynn, Janice Daggett, Wanda Koski, Connie and James Ricke, Bonnie and David Lerfald, Geneva and Jerry Krikelas; several nieces and nephews; special cousins Marlene (Howard) Kari, Ron (Kay) Dague; special caregivers Ken and Julie Vanderbeek. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Erland, Frank and Erwin (Dec. 2010) and 2 in infancy; sister Louise Nelson (Feb. 2011).
