Funeral Mass for Ethel E. Desjardin, 84, of Aurora, will be 10am Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7pm with recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to mass at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Mrs. Desjardin died Tues. April 12, 2011 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. She was born March 16, 1927 in Anamoose, ND to Earl and Della Birr. Ethel was a 1944 graduate of Velva, ND High School and later worked as a secretary for seven years for Truax and Trayer Companies. There, she met Maynard Desjardin. They were married June 16, 1951 in Velva, ND. They moved to Aurora in 1955. Ethel was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, where she held office. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose in Aurora. Ethel especially enjoyed time spent with family and was proud of them all. For the past six months Ethel was a resident of Northern Pines Nursing Facility where she enjoyed making friends and received excellent care. Survivors include her daughters: Janice (Harvey) Rassier of St. Joseph, Carol (Duane) Trosdahl of Park Rapids, Donna (Donald) Kern of Wrenshall, Jean (Paul) Stark of Aurora and Shirlee (Tom) Wright of Aurora; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister: Esther Peterson of Pasco, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Maynard.
