Margaret Muehlbauer

Funeral Mass for Margaret G. Muehlbauer, 103, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 10am Monday, May 9, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be at a later date in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Mrs. Muehlbauer died suddenly Wed. May 4, 2011 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN following a fall at her residence. She was born July 21, 1907 in Flensburg, MN to Thomas and Anna Wotzka. Margaret graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College and taught grade school in Flensburg for several years before her marriage. On Nov. 26, 1936 she married Carl J. Muehlbauer in Flensburg. They moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1958 where Margaret stayed active - physically and mentally - until the time of her death. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Assumption Group and served as secretary for the Hoyt Lakes Senior Citizens. Margaret enjoyed bowling and golfing well into her 90's and was an avid cribbage and 500 card player. Survivors include her grandsons: Robert Visina of St. Paul, MN, Thomas Visina of Oceanside, CA and James Visina of Princeton, NJ; nephew, Robert Cibuzar of Duluth, MN. Her family wishes to thank her many friends, neighbors and community for the love, care and support they have given her over the years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anna; husband, Carl; daughter, Mary Visina; and a considerable number of family, friends and neighbors of her generation.
