Arnold L. Zahnow

Funeral service for Arnold L. Zahnow, 75, of Hoyt Lakes, formerly of Embarrass, will be 1pm Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Embarrass Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Marlin Bjornrud officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Embarrass Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Mr. Zahnow died Thurs. May 12, 2011 at the University Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. He was born Feb. 29, 1936 in Richland County, North Dakota to Louie and Selma Zahnow. He was drafted into the US Army where he served two years. On May 23, 1969 he married Lucy Bernard in Wheaton, MN. Arnold retired from LTV Steel in February 1998 with 28 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Lucy; children: Lori Zahnow, Darin Zahnow, Kyle (Jamie) Zahnow, Perry (Rachel) Zahnow, Angela (Brad) Allen, Lisa (Ken) Krueger and Sherwin (Shelby Olson) Zahnow; nine granddaughters; one sister, Lillian Johnson of W. Fargo, ND and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin.
