Funeral service for Carole Anita Lind, 77, of rural Eveleth, will be 11:00 AM Friday May 27, 2011 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Rev. Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Carole died Monday May 23, 2011 at the Virginia Regional Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1933 in Kimberly of Aitkin County to Manfred J. "Jim" Haugen and Isabelle A. Nickander. As a teenager, Carole's family moved to Gilbert where she graduated from the Gilbert High School. On June 7, 1952 Carole married Robert Lind. She had worked as a nursing assistant and at Red Owl. Carole was very active in her childrens activities, serving in 4-H, Little League and the Blue Line Club to name a few. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and taking care of the birds in the neighborhood with her many feeders. Carole cherished the time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Robert; children Kevin (Yvonne Skibola) Lind of Gilbert, Trudy Hendricks of Soudan, Jeff Lind of Roseville, Terry (Corina) Lind of Aurora, Kelly (Barb) Lind of St. Cloud; grandchildren Kate (Joe) Bradach, Bobbie Jo (Dan) Illies, Billie Jo Moravitz, Steven Hendricks, Eric Lind, Amy Lind, Jennifer Lind, Paris Lind, Jacob Lind, Parker Larson, James Larson, Dennis Larson; 9 great grandchildren; sister Lisa (Thomas) Jackson of Eveleth and their daughter, Bonny; brothers Richard (Merdith) Kehoe of Bemidji, Bryan (Patti) Kehoe of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
