Ina Mae Johnson

Funeral service for Ina Mae Johnson, 78, of rural Gilbert, will be 1pm Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Rev. Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson died Thurs. June 2, 2011 at the Virginia Convalescent Care Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1932 in Fossum Township, Norman County, Minnesota to John and Martha (Nelson) Christensen. Following her schooling, she married Duane Johnson. In 1956 they moved to Aurora and in the late 1970's she began working as the Biwabik Township Clerk. She held that position for nearly 12 years. She also worked at the former United Lutheran Church in Gilbert as the secretary for many years. Ina Mae was a member of United In Christ Lutheran Church and also enjoyed flower gardening and quilting. Survivors include her children: Dwight Johnson, Peter (Kathi) Johnson, Rodney Johnson, Neil Johnson and Earl (Cathy) Johnson; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother, Robert Christensen, sister, Doris Wiger; several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duane, son, Douglas and three brothers.
