Memorial service for Darlene C. Lee, 54, of Gilbert, will be 1pm Monday, June 13, 2011 at United In Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth with Rev. Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Bracken Cemetery of Bracken, Texas. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Darlene (Elg) Lee lost her courageous battle with cancer on June 3, 2011. She spent her final days at her brother and sister-in-laws home surrounded by loving family and friends.. She left the area 30 years ago, living in Muscatine, IA and several other states. She was an accomplished baker and cake decorator, working in different bakery's. After 30 years she returned to Gilbert and enjoyed working at area convenience stores. She loved artwork, jewelry and collecting shoes and boxes. She adored her many nieces and nephews. Survivors include her mother, Charlotte and "Papa" Joe Fry, brothers: Gary (Connie) Elg of Gilbert and Vernon (Cindy) Elg of Cody, Wyo., sisters: Cindy Schlomach of Spring Branch, TX and Cheryl (Tom) Demarais of Gilbert; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; her beloved cat, Midnight and friend, Wilner. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, father, Kenneth Elg, Brother, David Elg.
