Funeral service for Marlene M. Foster, 72, of Eveleth, will be 6pm Monday, June 20, 2011 at United In Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth with Rev. Emily Rova Hegener officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be 10:30am Tues., June 28, 2011 at Lakeport Cemetery in LaPorte, MN. Local arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Marlene was unexpectedly called home by her loving Lord on June 14, 2011. She was born March 15, 1939 in Virginia, MN to Reino and Mildred Kamppi. Following her graduation from Buhl High School, she attended radiology school in Duluth where she became an x-ray tech. Marlene was a Sunday School teacher, avid singer, business owner and surrogate mother to countless children large and small. She loved to nuture and love. Her soul and spirit touched all who knew her. Awaiting her arrival at "The Gate" were her father, Reino Kamppi, mother, Mildred Kamppi, sister, Rose Chewning, her infant son, Daniel, her daughter, Julie Foster, her son, Steven Foster and her former husband and friend, Dwayne "Fuzzy" Foster. Grieving the loss of this kind, loving and beautiful woman are her brother, Sam (Sharon) Kamppi, daughter, Sherri (Stuart Wick) Hane, son, Patrick (Candida) Foster, daughter, Darcie (James) Novak, special companion and dancing partner, Frank Polaski and nine of her most precious gifts - her grandkids - Ashley Hane, Gabrielle Wick, Daniel Foster, Dustin Foster, Lee Foster, Rani Foster, Shaina Novak, Morgan Novak and Cody Novak, and her four legged friend, Duffy Dufferton Foster.
