Funeral service for Orlyn M. Anderson, 72, of White Township, will be 11am Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Palo with Rev. Charles Barnes officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and also continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with military honors by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Orlyn died Tuesday, June 15, 2011 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay, MN. He was born Sept. 19, 1938 in Clearwater County, Minnesota to Oscar and Marcella Anderson. Orlyn was a graduate of Clearbrook High School. He began working for Erie Mining Company in September 1957 and married Marion Tveitbakk on June 24, 1961 in Clearbrook. Orlyn was drafted into the US Army in 1961 until 1963. Following his military service he returned to Erie mining Company and retired from LTV Steel in January 1998. He was a member of the Hoyt Lakes Male Chorus, the Aurora Moose Lodge, Steelworkers Union #4108 and tha Aurora American Legion #241. He was a member of two bowling leagues, TRC Softball and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Orlyn enjoyed gardening, walking his dog and walking for Special Olympics. Survivors include his wife, Marion, children: Michael O. (Kathy Jo) of Lake Elmo and Naethen O. (Kim) of Mosinee, WI; brothers: Hyle (Gloria) Anderson of Aberdeen, SD, Karsten Anderson of Hibbing and Norvald (Connie) Anderson of Twin Valley; sisters: Maralyn (Jerry) Hill of Brooklyn Park, Joyce (Randy) Iverson of Oklahoma City and Claudia (Mike) Casper of Elk Grove, CA; step-mother-in-law, Harriet Tveitbakk of Clearbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry, father and mother-in-law: Olaf and Violet Tveitbakk.
