Ronald Lee Mattson

Graveside service for Ronald L. Mattson, 56, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11AM Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Markham Cemetery in Colvin Township with Rev. Charles Barnes officiating. Following the graveside service, a dinner will be served at the Hoyt Lakes VFW Post. Arrangements with the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Ronald died Thursday June 23, 2011 at the St. Mary's Essentia Health Hospital in Duluth. He was born August 30, 1954 in Virginia, MN the son of Herman and Vivian (Hotakainen) Mattson. Ronald graduated from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School. Ronald enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and being with family and friends. Survivors included daughters: Janice (Dan Ross) Mattson of Aurora, Violet Mattson of Robbinsdale, Veronica Mattson of Two Harbors; 6 grandchildren; sisters: Diana Silcox of Biwabik, Donna Norby of Stacy; brothers: Gary Mattson of West Eveleth, David Mattson of Markham; sister-in-law, Wendy Mattson of Makinen. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Vivian Mattson, brother Kenneth Mattson.
