Funeral service for Ardelle L. Engelstad, 74, of Biwabik, will be 11am Friday at Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik with Rev. Rodney Slessor officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert and continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Ardelle died Sun. July 3, 2011 at her companion's home in McKinley, MN. She was born April 10, 1937 in Red Lake Falls, MN to Tony and Elsie (Rhode) Scheuring. Ardelle was a graduate of Aurora High School and later attended Eveleth Vo-Tech. On July 16, 1954 she married Delberne Engelstad in Milbank, SD. In 1954 they moved to the Iron Range where Ardelle was employed at the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory, Salz-N-Walz Cafe, Range Office and Burgher Office Supply. She was a member of Community United Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Ardelle especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Rhonda (John) Mahovlich of Gilbert and Scott (Rosalyn) Englestad of Gilbert, special companion, Don Kedrowski of McKinley, three grandchildren, Tim (Janice) Cunningham of Woodbury, Tia (Tim Thuringer) Engelstad of Hoyt Lakes and Ryan Engelstad of Virginia, great grandchild, Isaac Engelstad, siblings, Francis of Pine City, Darrell of Elkhart, Ind., Dennis of Eveleth and Vern of Hoyt Lakes, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Delberne, son, Randy, siblings, Richard "Bud", Alfred, Kenneth, Keith, Angela Larson and Eileen Kayfes.
