Funeral service for James J. Anderson, 72, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 2:30pm Friday, August 5, 2011at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Steven Daigle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday (today) from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. James died Tuesday, August 8, 2011 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. James was born October 4, 1938 in Two Harbors, MN to Alfred and Gladys Anderson. On March 28, 1962 he married Beth Carpenter. James served our country with the US Air Force and was released from active duty in 1963. During his time of service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal on two seperate occasions. James worked for Erie Mining Company and retired from LTV Steel in 1987. He enjoyed baseball, golfing, bowling, camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed time spent with his beloved wife. Survivors include his wife, Beth; daughter, Cynthia (Don) Peden; sons, Curt, Mark and Mike Anderson; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debra in 1999.
