Shirley G. Kuchta

Memorial service for Shirley Gertrude Kuchta, 83, of Lake Eshquaguma, rural Gilbert, will be 10am Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik with Fr. Steven Daigle officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Biwabik Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Inlieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Shirley died Monday, August 8, 2011 at St. Michael's Health and Rehab Center in Virginia, MN. She was born May 22, 1928 in Belle River, MN to William and Norma Hintzen. Following her training as a nurse, she worked as a traveling nurse and at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth as a registered nurse for many years. On May 7, 1960 she married Samuel "Bill" Kuchta in Belle River, MN. Shirley enjoyed golfing, skiing, sewing and especially enjoyed time spent with the grandchildren. She was also a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Cathy (Steve) Leslie of Denver, CO, Doug (Sue) Kuchta of Rochester, MN and Trish (Ken) Olsen of Lino Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David and Bill.
