Funeral Mass for Anthony William Delzotto, 59, of Aurora, will be 11am Friday August 26, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. John O'Donnell as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the mass at church on Friday. Burial with military honors accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Anthony died Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND. He was born October 16, 1951 in Duluth, MN to Arthur G. and Rosemary (Gidbout) Delzotto. Tony was a 1969 graduate of Morgan Park High School and later served with the US Army from 1969-1971. Following his military service, he attended and graduated from the Alexandria Law Enforcement Program. He began serving as the Gilbert Police Chief in 1975 and remained there for 17 years. On May 22, 1978 he married Nancy Havron. Following his service in Gilbert, he served as Chief in Akeley, Minnesota. In 1998 they moved to Aurora where he enjoyed the outdoors fishing, bear and deer hunting and four wheeling. Tony was a member of the North American Hunting Association, the Aurora American Legion Post 241 and the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association. Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Aurora; sons, Timothy Delzotto of Mankato and Anthony "T.J." Delzotto Jr. of St. Paul; son-in-law, Darald A. Bogart of Hoyt Lakes; foster daughter, Linda Reynolds of Chisholm; grandchildren, Dominic and Stella Bogart; foster granddaughter, Jade Wass of Chisholm; siblings, Arthur (Pat) Delzotto of Dunnellon, FL and Yvonne (George) Schmeling of Mankato; several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rosemary; daughter, Malainya Bogart and her infant son, Hayden; foster grandson, Nathon Hecimovich; sister, Sue Evavold.
