Funeral service for Elma R. Maki, 89, of Aurora, will be 1:30pm Friday, October 21, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Aurora with Rev. Paul Buettner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Elma died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora. She was born Dec. 31, 1921 in Leonidas Location (Eveleth), MN to Sanfrid and Elmi (Erkkila) Wiirre. She attended Eveleth High School. Elma was a homemaker and enjoyed working on the family farm. She was a member of the Irongate Social Club and a former member of the Palo Senior Citizens. Survivors include her children, Eugene (Judy) Maki of Negaunee, MI, Edward (Lois) Maki of San Diego, CA and William (Debbie) Maki of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Carol Maki of Madison, SD; grandchildren, Polly (Chris) Johnson, Bobbi (Mike) Lesar, Brenda (Chad) Skelton, Brian (Shelly) Maki, Pam (Tim) O'Brien, Ericka (Doug) Seven, Jessica (Dustin) Pohlman, Shelly Maki, Diane (Karl) Kytta, Julie (John) Peterson and James (Tara) Maki; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Mankowski of Hibbing; several nieces and nephews She is preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Raymond J.; son, Kenneth; brothers, John, Lyle, Robert and Dudley; sisters, Edna and Betty Lou.
