Marie E. Karolczak

Funeral Mass for Marie Elizabeth Karolczak, 87, of Gilbert, formerly of Aurora, will be 10am Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Steven Daigle will be celebrant. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7pm with recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Marie died Friday January 6, 2012 at the Virginia Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 18, 1924 in Tauton, MN to Joseph and Elizabeth Kucera. On June 14, 1943 she married Mike Karolczak. In 1957 they moved to Babbitt and later moved to Aurora. Marie worked in the cafeteria for the Aurora Public Schools for many years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and crocheting. Survivors include her children, Valjean (Rita) Karolczak of Beloit, WI and Richard (Kathie) Karolczak of Aurora; six grandchildren, Tina, Dale, Christopher, Rachael, Caitlin and Ira; great grandchildren, Dominique, Alex, Chad, Katrina, Lindsey, Isaac, Marshall and Aiden; sister, Florence (Merlin) Johnson of Minneota; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Mike.
