Visitation for Louis F. Orso, 84, of Gilbert, formerly of Aurora will be Monday, January 16, 2012 from 12noon-2pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial will immediately follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora with military honors accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard. Mr. Orso died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Eveleth Health Services Park. He was born May 10, 1927 in Hurley, Wisconsin to Victor and Olympia Orso. Lou served our country from 1945-1947 in the US Army in Germany during WWII. On Oct. 9, 1956 he married Carol Whitford. Lou worked for Erie Mining Company as a Locomotive Engineer and retired from LTV Steel in March of 1989. He and his wife, Carol enjoyed sharing music at local nursing homes and extended care facilities. He especially enjoyed watching all sports; except for the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his children, Paul (Bev) Orso of Hoyt Lakes, Larry (Shonna) Orso of Gilbert, Barry (Molly) Orso of Hager City, WI and Sandi Orso of Red Wing, MN; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; grandson, Benjamin; siblings, Joe and Julius.
