Thomas M. Moore

Thomas M Moore, 85, died Thursday January 19, 2012 in Virginia. Funeral Service 11 AM Monday January 23, 2012 at Ziemer Moeglein Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Forbes Cemetery and a reception to be announced will follow, military honors accorded by the Gilbert VFW, The Rev. Kristin Foster of Messiah Lutheran officiating. Thomas was born March 28, 1926 in Eveleth, MN to Michael and Esther (Heglund) Moore. He taught math, industrial arts and became principal in Nicollet; was superintendent in Hanska, Becker, and Waubun; and assistant superintendent and vocational director of schools in Mora. He enjoyed ice fishing, woodworking, pheasant and deer hunting, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. Thomas will be missed. Thomas is survived by wife Fay; six children Sheila Buschette, Tom Jr. (Ruth) Moore, Brenda (Randy) Voight, Alecia (Robert) Bement, Shawn Moore, Rhonda (Bruce) Nelson-Rask; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Dayis Begich, Katherine Borash, brother Merlin Moore; extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Marlene Peterson, Dorothy Urbiha.
