WILFRED C. LOBB Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Loon Lake Community Center in Palo. Rev. Ron Hemsworth will be officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and continues one hour prior to the service at the community center. Burial will be in the in the Markham Cemetery. Wilfred Chris Lobb, 81, of Markham died Monday, January 16, 2012 at his home. Wilfred was born on July 23, 1930 to William James John and Bertha Emilie (Minks) Lobb in Duluth, MN. When Wilfred was a young boy his family relocated to Markham where they built a family farm. He graduated from Markham school. Following school he served in the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers. He was united in marriage to Saima Rachel Mauriala on June 30, 1956 in Cotton, MN. The couple made their home in Markham where they raised seven children. Farming and logging were lifelong passions for Wilfred. He was known to generously share the fruits of his labor with his neighbors, friends, and family Besides farming, he worked as a construction laborer for various places around the Iron Range. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time at the White Face Camp. Wilfred was a dynamic storyteller. Wilfred served as a Colvin Township Supervisor for six years. He also had served as a Deacon at the Lakeland Baptist Church. Most importantly, at a very young age, Wilfred came to trust Jesus Christ as his Savior. Survivors include: Loving wife of 55 years: Rachel of Markham Children: Nathan (Donna) Lobb of Palo Gary Lobb of Markham Philip (Cindy) Lobb of Markham Karen (Dan) Cleghorn of Chewelah, WA Joy (Ron) Hemsworth of Sauk Centre, MN William (Amanda) Lobb of Two Rivers, WI Sharon (Ken) Loveall of Urubamba, Peru Twenty-eight grandchildren & Five great-grandchildren whom were all the light of his life. Brother: Paul (Edwina) Lobb Two sisters: Susan Vetvick Olive Gallagher Numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James.
