Donald Arthur Tyssedal, 77, of Embarrass, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at Eveleth Health Services Park. A private family service will take place at a later date at the time of inurnment in the Embarrass Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Donald was born Nov. 15, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI to Soren and Lucille (Horton) Tyssedal. Don had a very special step-mother, Gladys, who raised the four boys and two half sisters. As a child, Don lived in Backus, MN and graduated from high school there. In 1955 he met and married Reva Houser from Pine River, MN. They made their home in Embarrass for 47 years and raised their three children there. Donald began working for Erie Mining Company in 1958 and retired from LTV Steel with 36 years as a furnace operator with 36 years of service. He enjoyed camping and fishing; catching enough to feed all the friends who gathered at the camp site. Don was always up for a competitive game of cribbage. He enjoyed watching tv, working in the yard and especially times spent with the children as they came to help. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Reva; children, Scott (Chris) Tyssedal, Jeffery (Sue) Tyssedal and Loni (Brad) Baird; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
