Memorial service for Rodney Glenn LeMoine, 76, of Aurora, will be 11am Thursday, May 3, 2012 at United Methodist Church in Aurora with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery Columbarium. Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Rodney died Thursday, April 26, 2012 in his home surrounded by family. He was born December 9, 1935 in Cook, MN to Oscar and Elsie (Lindbeck) LeMoine. Rodney was a graduate of Cook High School and later served our country with the US Navy. On September 13, 1958 he married Alice Anderson in Mt. Iron. Rodney worked for J&L Mining Company and retired from LTV Steels engineering department in 1998 with 40 years of service. He was a loyal, dependable worker. Rodney's enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, watching deer and feeding the birds and taking great care and pride in his remodeling projects. He was a caring man and always ready to help others, known as "Uncle Airplane." He was a family man, proud of his children and loved being a grandpa. He will truly be missed. Survivors include his loving wife, Alice Marie; daughter, Jodi (Roger) Bergh of Duluth; son, James (Sheila) LeMoine of Virginia; son-in-law, Timothy Sieh of Duluth; grandchildren, Jessica LeMoine of Chisholm, Sarah (Mark) Softich of Ramsey, MN, Joni LeMoine of Proctor, Jonathon (Jenna Osterlund) Oltmanns of Duluth, Elizabeth (Michael) Henderson of Manhatten, KS, Bryan (Elissa Liberg) Sieh of Seattle, WA and Maureen Sieh of Duluth and Elizabeth and Rachel Bergh of Duluth; great grandchildren, Elsa Kay and Vera Lynn Softich and Micah David and Evelyn Rose Henderson; siblings, Erlene Waataja, Richard (Colleen) LeMoine, Zona (Adrian) Perkio, Karen (Kevin) Roche, Sandy (Karl) Norman; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Jerry) Richards and Patricia Lund; brother-in-law, Don Anderson; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Elsie; daughter, Lani Kay Sieh (2010); brothers, James and Clifford; sisters, Gloria Fischer and Shirley Sikkila.
