Rose Lindval, 83, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth Friday April 27, 2012. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday May 1, 2012 at Ziemer Moeglin Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia, reception to follow at the Gilbert VFW. Rose was born Novemeber 24, 1928 to Charles and Lydia (Trupukka) Marks in Yola, MN. She owned and operated three restaurants in Mt. Iron, Eveleth, and Aurora. Rose was a fiesty lady with a heart of gold, and she shared through her many volunteering efforts; the Nursing Home in Eveleth, proud member of VFW ladies auxiliary 4456, Women of the Moose, Gilbert Sr. Citizens, Eveleth Al-Slav, Gilbert library board, Gilbert public library foundation, Gilbert 3rd of July Committee. Rose liked walking, arts and crafts, and even travelled the entire lower 48. But she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren who made her proud. Her spirit of unconditional loving and generosity will not be forgotten. Rose is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Jeanne Niemi, Hazel Madison, Lillian Marks, Violet Barone, Carl, George, Edward, Curtiss, Kenneth, and Melvin Marks. She is survived by daughter Susan (Robert) Ollila, sons James (Barbara) Silda, John (Debra) Silda; nine grandchildren, Tracy Silda, Jessica (Tyler) Auel, Michael, (Dayna) Peterson, Kristina (James) Ravnikar, Nichole Peterson, James Silda Jr., Christopher (Sherrie) Silda, Montana Silda, Kimberly Dobbs; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Mabel Zamlen, William Marks, Jerry (Darlene) Marks; several nieces and nephews; extended family and many close friends.
