Eva E. Lintula

Funeral service for Eva E. Lintula, 91, of Ely, formerly of Sparta Location, will be 10:30am Friday, May 4, 2012 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Rev. Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30am. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Eva died Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Ely Bloomenson Nursing Home in Ely, MN. She was born November 4, 1920 in Makinen, MN to Thomas and Selma (Latvala) Flom. Eva attended country school in Makinen and later married Veikko Lintula on July 13, 1940. She resided in Sparta until 1993, when she moved to Ely to be near her daughter's. Eva worked as a seamstress for the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory in Gilbert and was a homemaker. Eva enjoyed knitting, baking, crocheting and especially making rag rugs. Some of her favorite passtimes were watching her family participate in sporting events and spending time at Bear Island Lake. Survivors include her daughters, Susie (Larry) Hannuksela of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Sally (Claude) Devescovi and Shari (John) Saw both of Bear Island Lake; grandchildren, Paige (William) Phelps, Wanda (Jeff) McNallan, Ross (Jenny) Hannuksela, Penny (Robert) Kerstiens, Kevin Devescovi, Elissa (John) Aidt, Chris (Andrea) Lintula and Billy (Brittney) Saw; 16 great grandchildren; one expected great grandchild; one expected great-great grandchild; brother, Reuben (Mary) Flom of Kansas City; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Veikko; son, Pete; a son in infancy; siblings, Wilma, Vi, Andy, Martin, Tauno and Ed.
