Funeral mass for Sylvia Anita Kocjancich, 95, of Aurora, will be 2pm Friday, June 8, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Sylvia died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Nothern Pines Medical Center in Aurora. She was born April 3, 1917 in Meadow Location, Aurora, MN to Joseph and Katherine (Miklich) Putzel. Sylvia was a 1936 graduate of Aurora High School and later married Anthony Kocjancich in Aurora on November 7, 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the KSKJ and the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary. Sylvia also served as a Girl Scout leader for many years. Survivors include her children, Judith (David) Fortier of Hoyt Lakes, Margaret (Jerome) Kuznik of Burnsville, Sylvia (Donald) Berggren of Aurora, Mary (Bruce) Weise of Eufaula, OK, Rosanne Kocjancich of Virginia and Catherine (Patrick) Gordon of Apple Valley; son-in-law, Bill Hardy of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Thomas (June) Duich and Marian Luoma; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Anthony, step-father, Thomas Duich Sr.; daughter, Alice Hardy; brothers, Joseph, John and Edward in infancy; sisters, Matilda Futchi and Katherine Muhich.
