Memorial service for Virginia Ann Marvel, 73, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 10am Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Virginia died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1939 in Grand Rapids, MN. Virginia was a 1957 graduate of Toivola-Meadowlands High School. On October 5, 1957 she married Jack Marvel in Meadowlands. Virginia began raising her family, lived in Mt. Iron and moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1963. She worked as a cook at the Hoyt Lakes Golf Course and taught ceramics classes at her home for several years. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its quilting group. She was also a member of Eastern Star, a former member of the Hoyt Lakes Car Club and an active Girl Scout leader. Virginia was an avid bowler and enjoyed antiquing, rummage sales and attending car shows. She and Jack enjoyed wintering at Apache Junction, AZ and especially enjoyed visiting Superstition Mountains. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jack; children, Tracy (Tom) Welch of Hoyt Lakes, Craig (Shannon) Marvel of Princeton, Dawn (Owney) Koski of Virginia and Todd Marvel of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Tiffany, Erin (Erik), Chad, Brody (Kelly), Ross (Melanie), Eric (Veronica), Adam, Mary, Michael and Daniel; great grandchildren, Abby, Izzy, Melina, Brayson, Elsie and Leo; siblings, Barbara Marston of Mpls, Wesley (Carol) Anderson of Hibbing and Sheila (Greg) Schweiger of Hibbing; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Laimi (Turkula) Anderson, and a brother, Norman.
