Beverly Swan, 78, of Gilbert died June 7, 2012 at Diamond Willow in Mt. Iron surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at 4-7 pm Sunday June 10, at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funral Home in Gilbert and visitation will continue one hour prior to the 10 am Funeral service Monday, June 11, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Palo. Interment at Rauha Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Brian Birk. Beverly was born in Strathcona, MN to Obert and Ida (Bjerk) Reierson December 30, 1933. She grew up in Middle River, and married Robert Swan in Thief River Falls on August 15, 1953. Together they raised their family of six between the Zim and Palo areas on the Iron Range and the family farm in Newfolden. They have resided in Gilbert for the last decade. Beverly was a member of WELCA and St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Beverly enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, bird watching, music, picnicing, having a campfire, and a good book. She was a fabulous baker and a great hostess. Beverly enjoyed a good nap, and always rooted for the underdog. She loved her children dearly, especially the grandkids. Beverly will be dearly missed. Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert; daughters Laurie (Daniel) Oates of Eveleth, Audrey (Clark) Blackwood of Eveleth, Kathy (John) Tretter of Angora, sons Robert Jr. (Judy) Swan of Saginaw, Scot Swan of Gilbert; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Orla Majer of Roseau, and Sharron Williams of Duluth; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; son Terry Swan; brother Virgil Reierson, sisters Betty Haugen and Shelby Ostmo.
