Julia M. Glatch

Julia Marie Glatch, 95, of Gilbert died Monday July 9, 2012 at Virginia Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Friday July 13, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service, interment at Gilbert Cemetery, Fr. Charles Flynn officiating. Julia was born February 17, 1917 to Michael and Theresa (Homer) Zalokar. She attended and graduated from Gilbert Schools in 1935. Julia married in a double wedding where brothers Joseph and Edward Glatch married sisters Julia and Angela Zalokar. In her 40's, Julia recieved her degree from Eveleth Vocational Technology in Licensed Practical Nursing. She worked at Virginia Regional Medical Center for many years. Julia was a very loving, devoted mother and wife, and she made a heavenly Potica. Julia is survived by her children Thomas (Joanne) Glatch of Anoka, Barbara Pontinen of Thousand Oaks, CA, Donna (Dennis) Peterson of Gilbert; Grandchildren Michelle (Dan) Pulanco, Ann (Mike) Gschlecht, Sally (John) Licari, Matthew Glatch, Jennifer Pontinen, Susie (Larry) Krogstad, Jim and Keith Peterson; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law Edward Glatch of Eveleth. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Joseph Glatch; son Robert Glatch; her parents; grandson Ben; great-grandson Brian; sisters Mary and Angela. A special Thank You to the staff at Edgewood Vista for the last four years of wonderful care they gave our mother, and the staff at VRMC for their kindness and compassion.
