Donna J. Matteson

Donna J. Matteson, 81, of Hoyt Lakes died Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Virginia Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Memorial service will be held 10 am Saturday July 14, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Urn burial will follow at the Biwabik Township Cemetery, with a reception held afterwards at the Biwabik Township Hall. Donna was born June 29, 1931 to Oscar and Ann (Max) Wood in Breckenridge, MN. Donna married the love of her life, Leo Matteson on September 9, 1949. She was a homemaker. Donna's spirit was very loving, and she was a compassionate person that consistently put others before herself. Her loving, tender spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Donna is survived by her husband Leo; 7 children, Lyle (MaryAnn), Jerry (Mary), Larry (Judy), Rodney (Maggie), Ricky (Diane), Julie (Bill) Salo, Gaye (Dan) Lossing; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 7 siblings, Delores Enkers, Dale Wood, Dorothy Krause, Della Peterson, Darryl Wood, Doris Beznik, David Wood; extended family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Duane and Dennis Wood.
