Funeral Mass for Christopher Scott Bastian, 34, of Proctor, will be 11am Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Nashwauk with Fr. Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Burial will be in the Nashwauk Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. Christopher died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his residence in Proctor, MN. He was born February 10, 1978 in Hibbing, MN to Richard and Kathy (Oja) Bastian. Chris was a graduate of Nashwauk High School and worked as a registered nurse in Duluth. On June 19, 2004 he married Misty Johnson in Nashwauk, MN. Currently Chris was attending St. Scholastica to earn a degree as a nurse practitioner. Survivors include his wife, Misty of Proctor; son, Chase; parents, Richard and Kathy Bastian of Keewatin; sister, Cyndy (Justin) Cowan of Arizona; father and mother-in-law, Ron and June Johnson of Nashwauk. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilho and Marge Oja.
