Anna V. Harris

Anna Victoria Harris, 92, of Biwabik Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Anna Victoria Harris, 92 of Biwabik died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Northern Pines Essentia Health Nursing Home in Aurora. Anna was born on March 11, 1920 to Nels Gustaf and Anna Lisa (Mickelson) Holmstrom in Biwabik, MN. She graduated from the Biwabik High School and furthered her education at the Virginia Junior College. She was united in marriage to James Wendell Harris. Together with her husband the couple owned and operated the Harris & Sons Electric & North Ventures, Inc. Anna was a member of the Community United in Christ church in Biwabik and served as a Biwabik City Council member. She was also a member of the Biwabik Senior Citizens Club and the George & Mark Klobuchar VFW Auxiliary. Anna enjoyed growing flowers and gardening at the lake property on Cedar Island Lake. She enjoyed playing scrabble and board games with her sister Lydia Kauppi, cousin Edith Fulgham, aunt Ruth Mickelson and friend Beverly Mickelson. Survivors include: Son: Jon M. (Diane) Harris of Hermantown, MN Grandchildren: Brant Harris of Hermantown, MN Dr. Joel (Heather Moe) Harris of Hermantown, MN Melanie Harris of Corpus Christi, TX Great Grandchildren: Brant’s daughter’s Ashley Ann & Brittany Victoria Harris and Joel’s daughter, Chloe Isabella Harris Numerous nieces and nephews in the Biwabik area including Margaret “Peggy” Warren and her husband Michael whom spent countless hours with Anna. Anna was preceded in death by her husband James Wendell; son James Merrill; brothers, Emil, Edward & Nels Holmstrom; sister Lydia Kauppi; and her parents.
