Funeral service for Robert G. Kochendorfer, 75, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11am Thursday, December 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Aurora with Rev. Karl Helwig officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Robert died suddenly Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1937 in St. Vincent, Minnesota to George and Mary (Easter) Kochendorfer. Bob was a 1956 graduate of Pembina High School and in that same year married Kay Babcock in St. Vincent. To that marriage, two children, Michael and Jeannine were born. In 1956 they moved to Aurora where he worked for Erie Mining Company. Following Kay's death, Bob married Yvonne Tuomala in 1975. Together, they had one daughter, Hope. Bob continued working for Erie Mining Co., and retired from LTV Steel as a crane operator in 1993. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Aurora. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne; children; Michael (Bobbie) Kochendorfer of Duluth, Jeannine (Tim) Faldet of Duluth and Hope Kochendorfer of Virginia; granddaughter, Kay Faldet, stationed in North Carolina; sister, Janice (Richard) Cardoza of Sequim, WA; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Kay; granddaughter, Rachel.
