Funeral service for Loretta B. Taylor, 81, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, will be 10:30am Monday, January 7, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Virginia (Midway) with Rev. Paul Losik and Rev. John Cowan officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Loretta went home to meet her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN. She was born July 6, 1931 in Grand Rapids, MN to Alfred and Astrid Johnson. Loretta was raised in Bovey and graduated from Greenway High School. On June 28, 1968 she married Paul Taylor in Sisseton, SD. They resided in Eveleth for 25years prior to moving to Hoyt Lakes in 1993. Loretta returned to Grand Rapids in 2005. She was a homemaker, a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Aurora and a current member of Faith Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. Survivors include her children, Duane (Rosa) Bischoff of Calumet, Ronald (Denise) Bischoff of Rapid City, Barbara (Roy) Hendricks of Wawina and Kristina Taylor of Eagan; step-son, Jeff (Nancy) Taylor of Palasaide; grandchildren, Ellen, Julia, Ross, Chad, Tristan, Dwight, Sam, Eric and Amy; numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul of 35 years; sons, Stanley and Lance; grandson, David; sister, Dorothy.
