Amelia Bronich, 96, died Thursday January 17, 2013 in Eveleth Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to service, interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Fr. Frank Perkovich officiating, services by Ziemer Moeglein Shatava Funeral Home of Gilbert. Amelia was born August 17, 1916 to Frank and Veronica (Vidasich) Fisher in Biwabik, Minnesota. She lived in Biwabik her whole life. Amelia was a hard working child of the depression, her life encompassed many different jobs. She did housecleaning as a youth, and cooked for much of her life at various locations including the Midway Cafe in Biwabik and the Biwabik school until her "retirement". Amelia then worked providing home health care into her eighties until she was sidelined by knee surgery. For Amelia, having a garden was more than a hobby, it was a way of life. She grew, cooked, canned, anything that could be grown, and even a few things that couldn't in a northern climate. She only quit gardening when she was physically unable to anymore. She was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church. Amelia is preceded in death by her husband Michael Bronich; three brothers, five sisters; and son George. She is survived by a daughter Lois Ferguson; three grandchildren David (Lori) Ferguson of Grand Rapids, MN, Dale (Beth) Staplin of Mauston, WI, Brian (Vicky) North of Coon Rapids, MN; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
