Funeral Mass for Ella Mae Jensen, 84, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 2pm Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Justin Fish as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-6pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the mass at church on Thursday. Burial will be at a later date in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Ella died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Essentia Health in Duluth. She was born November 29, 1928 in Deer Creek, MN to James and Alice (Lane) Kent. Following high school, Ella graduated from nursing school in Minneapolis. She worked as a psychiatric nurse in Duluth and as a nurse at the East Range Clinic in Virginia. Ella was married to Kenneth Jensen. She was a homemaker and a very dedicated mother. Ella was a member of the Timothy Robinson VFW Auxiliary, the Queen of Peace Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. Survivors include her children: Roxanne L. Horton of Hoyt Lakes, Kurt J. (Sharon) Jensen of Bass Lake, Deborah (Ken) Brassill of Two Harbors, Shawna M. Jensen of Hoyt Lakes, Kris M. Jensen of Hoyt Lakes, Mark J. Jensen of Sumner, WA and Michael (Brenda) Jensen of Hoyt Lakes; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Scholla of Hector, MN and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brother, Albert Kent; sister, Pearl Wilson.
