Memorial service for Elizabeth Grace Levchak, 82, of Biwabik, formerly of Virginia, will be 10:30am Friday, February 8, 2013 at Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik with Rev. Rodney Slessor officiating. An Eastern Star service will be held at 10:15am at the church. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Betty died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Clayridge Assisted Living in Biwabik, MN. She was born November 28, 1930 in Aurora, MN to Harry and Martha Anderson. Betty Grace, as she was called, attended school in Biwabik, Aurora, Two Harbors and UMD. She married Joseph Levchak in 1950. They lived in Chisholm and Freemont, CA,; moving back to Duluth, Hoyt Lakes, and rural Gilbert. She was a homemaker and seamstress, making many of the clothes for herself and her family. She tended to a large vegetable garden and many beautiful flower beds. She ejoyed trips with her husband, touring the South and West in their R.V. Following her husband's death in 1988, she moved to Biwabik and later to Virginia. She was a member of the Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik, and was a 60 year member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #262 in Biwabik. Survivors include her children: Paul (Debbie) Levchak of Bismark, ND, Rebecca (David) Rogers of Sidney, B.C., Canada, Steven (Janie Tishler) of Clarkston, MI, Chris Levchak of Biwabik and Joseph Levchak of Biwabik; grandchildren: Mike (Sarah) Alto of Lisbon, ME and Felicia Levchak of Virginia; sisters: Algene Anderson of Mesa, AZ and Lois (Robert) Karish of Biwabik; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; brothers: Donald and Robert (Margaret) Anderson.
