Funeral service for Edith B. Rintala, 82, of rural Aurora, will be 11am Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Biwabik Covenant Church with Rev. Jeffrey Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30am until the time of service. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora, MN. Memorials may be directed to the Biwabik Covenant Church or the American Cancer Society. Edith died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Essentia Health - Virginia. She was born November 11, 1930 in Duluth, MN to David and Hulda (Nielson) Boberg. She was born a teacher and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1953. She began her teaching career in Tofte, MN and retired from the Babbitt School District. Edith married Walfred "Mike" Rintala on August 13, 1954. Edith was raised in a family of faith and she continued to share that faith in her active participation in her faith communities. She loved fishing, gardening and watching the wildlife that graced her property. Survivors include her sister, Elaine; brother, Bert; several nieces and nephews; special friends, the Dale Erickson family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike; brother, John Boberg. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the staff of Clayridge Assisted Living in Biwabik and St. Raphael's in Eveleth.
