Richard "Nick" Nicholson

A visitation for Richard L. "Nick" Nicholson, 71, of Aurora, will be 11am-1pm Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. A reception will immediately follow at Rudy's Bar in Aurora. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Warrenville, Illinois. Nick died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. He was born November 18, 1941 in Maywood, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nicholson. He was a 1959 graduate of Wheaton Central High School and was employed for AT&T in Chicago as a methods engineer for 32 years. On February 11, 1984 he married Susan Mitchell in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nick enjoyed hunting and fishing, but especially enjoyed singing karaoke. He was a Life Member of the AT&T Pioneers and Turners Club. He was a former Aurora Moose member. Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Daniel (Jacki) Nicholson of Cochise, AZ and Heather (Mike) Porritt of Toronto, Canada; step-children, Brian (DeeDee) Murphy of Aurora, Stacey Murphy of St. Charles, Ill and Mollie (Herbert) Brinkman of Sugar Grove, Ill; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Lida Nicholson of Lombard, Ill. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Nicholson; grandchild, Taylor Wacker.
