Visitation for Michael Francis Boyer, 54, of Aurora, will be held from 10am-12noon Monday, March 4, 2013 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. A graveside service with military honors will take place immediately following the visitation at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Following the interment, a coffee an' will take place at the Aurora American Legion. Michael died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Raphael's Health and Rehab in Eveleth, MN. He was born July 27, 1958 in Virginia, MN to Francis and Antoinette (Berdice) Boyer. Michael attended school in Aurora and later enlisted with the US Army, serving nearly two years. He also served in the National Guard for two years. On March 6, 1993 he married Valerie Licari in Britt, MN. Mike worked as a smoke chaser for the State of Minnesota and for the US Forestry for nearly 25 years. Mike was a member of the Aurora American Legion Post 241, the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting and Fishing Clubs. Survivors include his wife, Valerie; children, Joshua(Connie) Boyer of Iron and Latisha Servio of Wisconsin;step-child, Adrian Licari of Aurora; brother, Bob (Lani) Boyer of Markham; sister, Linda (John) Otto of Rochester; five grandchildren, Hailey, Briann, Elija, Sabrina and Oden; extended family, Shirley (Samuel Story) Vincent and children, Christian, Camren and Jessie of Hoyt Lakes; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
