James H. Anderson

A Celebration of Life luncheon for James Harold Anderson, 72, of Sparta Location, will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. James died Friday, March 29, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born March 13, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MN to Edwin and Lily (Lindgren) Anderson. Following his schooling, he served with the US Navy. On June 29, 1963 James married Karen Palokangas in Menahga, MN. James began working for J&L Mine and later retired from LTV Steel as a millwright. James enjoyed restoring collector cars and riding motorcycle. Survivors include his wife, Karen; daughters: Jennifer (Tim) Barfknecht of Britt and Kim (Blake) Amundson of Rogers, MN; grandchildren: Kyle, Matthew, Joseph and Lauren; brother: Raymond Franzen of Maple Grove; sisters: Elaine Niemi of Hibbing, Karen Erickson of Mt. Iron and Bonnie Kober of Mt. Iron; several nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Anderson.
