A celebration of life for Jon "Pasty" Tregenza Thomas, 66, of Eveleth will be held 12 noon Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Gilbert VFW Post in Glbert, MN. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Local arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Jon died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at his residence. Jon was born on December 1, 1946 to James and June (Tregenza) Thomas in Virginia, MN. He grew up and attended school in Eveleth. Following school, he enlisted in the US Navy. Jon was united in marriage to Rosemary Grahek on April 6, 1973 in Watertown, SD. He spent his entire life living on the Iron Range. Jon was employed by Lundgren Motors as a parts runner until his retirement in 2009 after 20 years of service. Pasty, as he was known, had a passion for sports, especially hockey. He had coached the Rangers and the Jr. Gold teams. Jon enjoyed collecting bobbleheads and video games. Jon's family remembers him as an outgoing person who made friends easily and will be missed dearly. Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Rosemary; children: John (Shannon) Thomas of Aurora; JoAnna (Tom) French of Gilbert; Andy Archambeau of Colorado; and Dawn Thomas of Gilbert. Grandchildren: Stevie Videnich of Rosemount, MN; Dylan French of Gilbert; Marissa & Mariah Thomas of Aurora; Jaren & Trista Thomas of Colorado. Three brothers: Lowell, Jim (Carol), and Jeff (Carol) Thomas all of Eveleth. One sister: Janelle (Neil) Thuringer of Hoyt Lakes; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Carol Thomas.
