Memorial mass for Helen Zuponcic, 98, of Aurora, will be 10am Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. There will be no visitation prior to the mass. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Helen Zuponcic, passed away on May 12, 2013, at the age of 98 after a short illness. The daughter of Slovene immigrants, she was born in the Meadow mining location on the Mesabi Iron Range, the 10th of 13 children; and was educated in the superb public schools in Aurora, MN. A homemaker, a piano teacher, a political progressive and world traveler, she believed passionately in the transformative powers of education; and corrected bad grammar to the day she died. She leaves behind five children, Veda Zuponcic, H. Martin (Rhonda), Carl (Sally), Cora Z. Barr, Kathy Schaefer (Jerry), 11 grandchildren, Deja (Zuponcic) Weber, Jason Schaefer, Gavriel Heine, Erin (Zuponcic) Wegner, Anitsa (Barr) Schroeder, John Zuponcic, Jordan Schaefer, Alexei Barr, Anton Zuponcic, Jacob Schaefer, Noah Thompson, 7 great-grandchildren, her sister Alice (Wilson), numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman Zuponcic, parents John and Johanna (Snidersich) Bradach, brothers John, Joseph, Frank, Anthony, Edward, Jacob, Louis, Henry, and sisters, Ann (Johnson), Mary (Easter), and Margaret (Cina).
