Funeral service for Dolores Jean "Dee" Sabin, 78, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 10:30am Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with Rev. Brendan Johnston officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Dee passed away peacefully Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Raphael's Health and Rehab in Eveleth, MN, surrounded by her family's love after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 17, 1935 in Eveleth, MN to John and Velma (Lindeman) Miladin. She was a graduate of Virginia High School and later married Wendell Sabin on September 1, 1956 in Virginia, MN. Dee worked for Northwestern Bell, Dino's Liquor in Aurora and the Minnesota Store in Virginia. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Hoyt Lakes VFW Auxiliary and the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary. Dee lived her life to the fullest extent. Her wit and humor stayed with her even through the toughest times. Dee and Wendell played a special role in many children's lives. She loved nurturing children and maintaining relationships with them into adulthood. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Wendell; sons: Jeffrey (Lolly) Sabin of Eveleth and their son, Daniel (Heather) and their children, Brody and Mackenzie, Jason (Lynn Hochevar) of Palo and their family, Angela, Alanna (Joe) and their son, Hayden; sister, Judy (Bruce) Anderson of Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Velma; step-father, Russell Johnson.
