Funeral Service for William M. Anderson, 80, of Hoyt Lakes will be 11am Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Brendan Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7pm with a Masonic service at 6:30pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at a later date in the Sunrise Cemetery in Duluth. Military honors will be accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard. William died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora, MN. He was born July 7, 1933 in Duluth, MN to William and Elsie (Dahl) Anderson. Bill was a 1951 graduate of Hermantown High School and later worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He served our country in the US Army from 1953-1956 during the Korean Conflict. In 1954 he married Bonnie Botten and they moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1957. Bill worked for Erie Mining Company and retired from LTV Steel as a millwright in 1995. Bill was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes, the Biwabik Masonic Lodge #293 where he served as Worshipful Master in 1980 and 1990. He was a member of the Hibbing Lodge of Perfection, the Aurora American Legion Post #241 and the United Steelworkers #4108 where he served as an officer. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, golf and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; sons: Rick of Hoyt Lakes and Wyatt (Connie) of Brandon, SD; son-in-law: Steve Holter of Hoyt Lakes; grandson, Jeff Holter of Hoyt Lakes; granddaughter, Jennifer Anderson of Brandon, SD; sister, Betty Fiege of Duluth; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lori Holter.
